Intermediate Business Analyst, Data Solutions

In this role, you serve as the liaison between the business and technical teams in translating complex business needs into technological solutions. He / She analyses business technology requirements and specifications against value and risk of potential solutions and conducts cost-benefit and risk assessment analysis for proposed solutions to determine suitability of solutions.

 

Capital Markets IT involves technological solutions and systems used in financial markets for trading, investment, and related activities. This includes electronic trading platforms, risk management systems, market risk, counterparty risk, algorithmic trading, data analytics, and Regulatory measures. The use of advanced technologies like API's, artificial intelligence and cloud solutions are also becoming increasingly prevalent in capital markets to enhance efficiency and decision-making processes.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze business technology requirements and specifications against value and risk of potential solutions, Identify suitable technological solutions for the business
  • Examine interactions between systems elements, systems performance and issues, and design the solution blueprint for the specific area of expertise with the consideration of implications for integration across the entire solution.
  • Translates business requirements and user needs into functional and technical specifications, ensuring that business requirements are incorporated into the solution design.
  • Evaluate the feasibility, viability and implications of proposed solutions and/or enhancements to systems in the current and future business environment
  • Balance requests and competing priorities from key stakeholders to maximize the value delivered to the organization.
  • Present business cases defining potential benefits, solutions to increase efficiencies of business processes and associated risks
  • Create, review & maintain the documentation of the design documents, coding documents and user manuals
  • Specification of business rules for regulatory reporting, business operations and transformations.
  • Functional design and testing of solutions.
  • Maintenance and promotion of best practices around the data dictionary of the bank
  • Interaction with developers to define implementation specs
  • Interaction with other IT teams to explain and communicate on Data services
  • Assisting with the daily operations through scrum, Jira and Kanban techniques.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes relevant to capital markets.

Job Requirements

  • Candidate should have minimally 5 years of experience in relevant activities.
  • At least Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Programming & Systems Analysis, Science (Computer Studies) or related Finance fields.
  • Skilled in Data analysis using database queries (Sql/Oracle/Sybase), TSQL and JOINS
  • Good working understanding of Microservices and Swagger UI
  • Basic knowledge on UNIX Commands and Scripting
  • Hands on experience of sourcing data from various application covering various data format like CIBML /Kafka messages/Json...
  • Strong understanding of the CFT concepts
  • Strong knowledge of the XSLT transformation and tools like Oxygen OS
  • Desirable to have Messaging Queue concepts and tools like Hermes
  • Basic understanding of the tools like Grafana, KIBANA, EJB
  • Good understanding on GIT, JIRA, Agile project management concept.
  • Experience in supporting capital market applications and trading systems, ideally within the dynamic landscape of Market Risk/Front Office operations with a commendable grasp of financial products (Treasury, FX, Credit, IRD, Bonds, RSF etc.).
  • Hands on expertise on various transaction reporting regulations like MIFID2/SFTR/EMIR/CFTC and any APAC transaction regulatory reporting.
  • Strong experience on Market data, Pricing, Clearing & Settlement, confirmation, Affirmation concept, Regulatory data sourcing from various upstream platforms like: Jet Stream, TradeWeb, MarkitWire.
  • Strong functional knowledge of financial products (Derivative products like IRS, TRS,CDS etc.) & regulatory reporting
  • Ability to drive end-to-end regulatory project with complete ownership.
  • Good understanding of the data sourcing from various front office application like kondor, Summit, OT
  • Experience of capital market processes, e.g. Pricing, Sales/Trader workflow, etc.
