About the role

We are looking for a Biotech Building Construction Project Manager to join our LifeSciences teams in Switzerland.

 

He/she is responsible for supervising and coordinating the execution of work on site, from the design phase through to final delivery. He/she is responsible for operational site supervision, guaranteeing safety, adherence to schedules, quality of work and coordination between the various players (internal and external).

 

 

Mission:

 

Preparing the work

  • Participate in studies and planning of work execution.
  • Assess resource requirements, costs and constraints.
  • Working with the HSE team, define the necessary safety measures.
  • Ensure compliance of legal and regulatory documents.
  • Prepare and organize site installations (living quarters, access, flow, energy).

Site supervision and coordination

  • Supervise and coordinate day-to-day work activities, including external contractors.
  • Ensure operational safety on site (HSE documents, lifting plans, risk analyses, work permits).
  • Ensure compliance with internal regulations and requirements.
  • Monitor work progress and identify potential discrepancies.
  • Carry out regular inspections (safety, quality, equipment, scaffolding, electricity, etc.).
  • Validate contractors' work logs.

Communication and reporting

  • Produce clear and regular progress reports for Project Leaders.
  • Participate in technical coordination and site monitoring meetings.
  • Communicate proactively with project teams (Engineering Lead, SMEs, Project Manager).
  • Provide feedback at the end of the project.

Safety (HSE)

  • Ensure compliance with HSE standards on site, without taking the place of HSE specialists.
  • Actively participate in risk analyses (JRA, LOTO, PLCA).
  • Ensure proper application and daily closing of work permits.
  • Report any shortcomings and apply corrective measures in agreement with line management.

Your profile

  • Proven experience (min. 10 years) in industrial site management (pharmaceuticals, chemicals, biotech or similar sectors).
  • Engineering background (civil, mechanical, industrial engineering or equivalent).
  • Solid knowledge of safety (HSE).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with ability to produce structured reports.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and solve operational problems pragmatically.
  • Bilingual French/English, spoken and written.
